Easy Apple Dumpling Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients
  

Apple Filling

  • 6-7 apples
  • 3/4 - 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash nutmeg
  • dash salt

Topping

  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Crisco butter shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • dash salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Peel and slice apples, mix with other filling ingredients. Add to a greased 9 inch pan.
  • For the topping, cream sugar, shortening, and eggs. Sift baking powder, flour, and salt, then add to creamed mixture. Add milk and mix until combined. Pour over the top of the filling.
  • Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until done. Dumpling is done when an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
